Week 4

The father heart of God was presented to us by a Samoan named Peni. He was very funny and very tender-hearted. He treated us all as special people in the sight of God. He brought a word for us from God and I was totally blown away how he could present to each of us individually with such a specific word. I was the last one in the class to receive mine. My scripture verse was Jeremiah 29:11-14. I have received two confirmations now that I am here for the benefit of my children. I am so excited for the many things Ashli, Logan and Ethan are getting to do here and all the life experiences. It is so worth it.

We did have visitors this week. Steve and Bev Marsdin "popped in" fresh off the boat on Wednesday. It was so nice to see familiar faces. We were able to have lunch together - although they were not hungry because of the ship buffets. If you know them and get to see them, ask them about the lei's God gave them! They also got a tour of the campus so now they know where we live for now.

As some of you may already know, our outreach plans also changed this week. We are going to SOUTH AFRICA to work with A Voice for the Voiceless there. We are very excited about this change in plans and look forward to working there.

Week 1

Well, we've survived our first week. What a ride it has been so far. Life has been tipped upside down (by choice of course) and we are adjusting to the time and lifestyle changes that we have made. Kona is not your usual vision of what Hawaii looks like. It is definitely more rocky. Having our meals prepared is definitely worth every penny. I am making some new friends and learning alot about photography and the human trafficking industry, which makes my heart very heavy and burdened for the victims of such injustice.

We have been very blessed here and although there are many challenges, I believe that God has brought us to this place at this time for a purpose. I'll have to keep you posted as He lets me know...because right now I'm not sure exactly what that is. I feel inept at photography and overwhelmed by the great need for victims of human trafficking - it's all very hard to process in such a short period of time.

To those that are praying, I know that you are. I can feel the presence of God surrouding us every minute.
